SWEEPSTAKES ($20) - Large interior area set with an unknown number of hides (Birch, Anise, or Clove). 3 minutes to search. The judge will determine if you can be on or off-leash (will be in your briefing). The goal is to find as many hides as you can (more hides will be placed than can likely than can be found in 3 minutes). The winner of this event will earn 30% of the Sweepstakes fees, 2nd place will earn 10%; 3rd place will earn 5%. You can have "No"s, but they count for 5 seconds onto your time.
SUPER DISTRACTORS ($10) - Exteriors under shade. A large number of containers will be set in rows (number of containers will be in your briefing). All containers will have something inside, only a small number will have Birch, Anise, or Clove essential oil. Competitors continue (4-minute time limit) until they determine they have found all the hot containers, or until they receive a "NO". Placement determined by the number of hot containers found then by time. The top 3 teams earn a prize.
FASTEST TIME ($10) - Interior. Search area will be set with 3 hides at the advanced level of difficulty. Teams who can find the hides with the fastest time win. Teams search until they find all hides & Call "Finish", receive a "NO", or the maximum time of 3 minutes is reached. The top 3 teams earn a prize.
RELAY ($20 per team) - Exterior. 2 handler & dog teams compete in this search to find all 5 hides placed in a search area. Only one team can be searching at a time, the other team must remain within a designated boundary. To switch, the searching team will enter their own designated boundary, and the other team can start searching. Teams can communicate and work together to find the hides. The maximum amount of time is 4 minutes. Teams continue searching until they find all hides or their maximum time has been reached. You can have "No"s but they count 5 seconds onto your time. The team that is fastest to find all hides wins. The top 3 teams earn a prize.
PAYMENT: Once you have registered, I will send you a link to pay. You can either pay via paypal or send me a message at to arrange payment. Your runs are not fully entered until you have paid for them. All unpaid runs on May 14th at 2pm will be considered NOT ENTERED.
Refunds. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from the event. Registration will be refunded if the event cannot be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. REFUNDS will be issued for dogs or humans that are ill, and required if the human has tested positive for COVID within the past 14 days. Bitches in season may attend but must wear panties at all times on the ground and potty only in a designated location. Let Aleks know if you have a BIS with you, and we will arrange your own parking area.
Handler Briefing will be sent via email to a video link the night prior to the event. You will not receive a briefing as a group at the grounds. There will NOT be a warm up container out front.
Please do not bring odor with you. Please keep your dog on leash at all times, and pick up after your dog (and "adopt a poop" if you come upon an orphaned one. Searches must be done on a flat buckle collar, martingale or harness.
Crating will be out of your vehicle, please bring your own shade and water (and fans!). Frozen bottles of water in a dog's crate can help keep them cool if it's warm.
COVID precautions - please wear a mask at all times you are away from your vehicle, and keep a distance of 6 feet minimum between you and others on site. A mask should cover your nose and mouth. Spectators will not be permitted inside. The outside search areas - you can spectate after you have run those classes (if you are entered, otherwise, you can spectate the whole time).
By entering this event, you acknowledge that you are familiar with the sport of scent work, and that your dogs is familiar with and able to perform all searches safely. It is expressly understood that you alone are responsible for the behavior of your dogs and/or children. Any person whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the organizing committee, be asked to leave the site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. Release Canine LLC and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. Release Canine LLC reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the club or any official thereof.
